Better Solutions For Your Food Security Needs

Whether it is Edible Landscaping, Food Forests, Permaculture, or Perma Farms, we are a business dedicated to helping you get started.

About

Imagine a perennial food supply. Trees and bushes that produce enough fruit for the entire year without ever having to go to the grocery store. Vegetables, tubers, and greens that come back year after year, with no need to slave away at a traditional garden. No matter your level of commitment, this image can become a reality, and we are hear to help.

  • More controlled food production - Edible Landscaping
  • Less controlled food production - Permaculture
  • No control food production - Perma Farms

The heart of what we do is Perma Farms. A Perma Farm is land that is escaping, land that is less and less under human control - a permanent farm. It is an upside down definition of a farm, one whose goal is not to produce monetary wealth, monocultured crops, or maximum efficiency, but rather one whose goal is to start moving towards balance, creating environments in which all of the community of life may be free to grow. To really understand what this is all about, spend some time at PermaFarms.com

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question, feel free to email us at AmityHaven@protonmail.com

  • 01How would this work, what is the process?

We are primarily a consultation service, though we are working on establishing a viable nursery too. The first step is to simply contact us. We will then come out and provide you with a free consultation, gathering information about the property, what you are envisioning, and how we can help make that vision a reality. Depending on what you are looking for we may be able to help with almost every part of the process, from advice to in some cases physical planting, composting bins, water retaining systems, chicken coops, bee hives...

  • 01How do you make money off of this?

Amity Plants works under an idea called the gift economy. This idea has become mostly foreign to us, and for this reason, it is usually met with skepticism, as if there is a catch, or perhaps some sort of mental illness at play.

If you want to learn more about the gift economy, one of the best places to start is with a book by Charles Eisenstein called Sacred Economics: Money, Gift, and Society in the Age of Transition. You can read the book for free online.

So why do we do it? Three reason: 1. We hope to encourage the growth of more Perma Farms, without money being a factor. 2. We do it because it not only feels right to do it, but it also feels amazing. 3. And finally, because it is a powerful example for our children. Our way of providing them with a different perspective. The hope is that as they participate in this process, they will learn the value of following their hearts and not just their wallets.
